Affiliation Rules
These are my rules for affiliation. I don't believe in any of that "Put 'cuddly pickles' to prove you read the rules" business, but still. Read the rules.
- ENGLISH SITES ONLY! Really. Proper grammar and everything. No sticky caps, either. If you wouldn't turn it in as a school assignment, don't even bother. Sorry, but that is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, and since I turn in web pages as school assignments, I know it's not hard to make it look nice and have proper grammar, spelling, etc.
- Typically if you affiliate with someone, you have something in common. So I'll assume you run some type of graphics site, which I will also assume means you can design and code a layout. Don't let me down and use a lame template. In a related story, I reserve the right to deny your affiliation request depending on your hosting program. I hate Piczo sites, and therefore I will deny your application. Freewebs, Freehostia, Bravenet, etc.,-hosted sites are subject to approval but not guaranteed.
- If you are accepted, my site must be linked back, either on an affiliation page or on every page in an affiliation section.
- Expect emails from me regularly. I will tell you what's going on at Kokunkokun. I will expect the same from you. Changing your main layout? Why? New affiliate or link exchange? Let me know! Seriously. Affiliates are kind of like your cyber-buddies. They're there to help you when you need it, so make yourself accessable.
- Tell me if you're planning to move. If your link is bad, I'll try to get in touch with you, but if you don't speak up, you'll be pulled, no questions asked. Also, if I'm not linked there, you won't be linked here!
- My URL is http://kokun.faded-chimera.net. Please link me with a button or text link. Do not direct link my button. If that is too much to ask, just use a text link.
- I reserve the right to remove your link if you don't demonstrate growth on your site. Essentially, if I feel that you started off as a weak designer and over the course of a month or so don't seem to be getting any better, I'll offer you some advice on improving but I'll probably cut you loose. Sorry. You can apply again in the future!
- If you can't be bothered to tell me why you want to affiliate with my site, I can't be bothered with you. I've gotten tons of emails from people who are apparently interested in affiliating with me, but they neglect to attach a message. Usually these are sites that I wouldn't affiliate with anyway, but once in a while they're of good quality, but I still tell them no because they couldn't write me a message about why. So, if you are serious about affiliating with Kokunkokun, make sure you tell me why. It doesn't need to be a college essay, but just tell me what you like about my site. Otherwise, you're out of luck.
